A Moment in Time

And we are living it!

As an independent clockmaker, I am so pleased to see the wider horological world taking the time to recognize where we are today in the independent horological field. I am a strong believer that social media has given us independents the tools to present ourselves and our brands to a wider audience, the scale of which had previously only been attainable by large brands with even larger marketing budgets. This in turn has liberated the collector from the clutches of the traditional dealer and presented the opportunity to deal directly with the craftsmen and artisans who’s hands truly create the objects. This will certainly have its financial implications, but I see it more as opening up a world of opportunity. The end-user now has the opportunity to directly commission a truly bespoke piece in a way that seemed lost until this modern renaissance of horology.

This film highlights the changes that have come about in the industry over the past 20 years and supports the reality that the future of horology is now in the hands of the independent.

Long may it continue!
